Day 1

Upon your arrival in Moshi, you'll meet your guide who will provide you with the necessary equipment and bikes. After a briefing and bike fitting, you'll embark on your cycling adventure. The first leg of your journey takes you from Moshi to Kidia village, where you'll begin your exhilarating ride through the enchanting Kilimanjaro rainforest. As you pedal through the lush greenery, take in the mesmerizing sights and sounds of the forest. A highlight of the day is the picturesque viewpoint at Mawa Seminary, offering breathtaking vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro. In the evening, you'll set up camp in Marangu and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 2

Cycling from Marangu to Ubaa Secondary School (28 kilometers, 3-4 hours)

After breakfast, hop on your bikes and continue your cycling expedition towards the north. Today's route includes a mix of uphill and downhill sections, providing both challenges and thrilling descents. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to interact with the local communities and gain insights into their way of life. The highlight of the day is reaching Ubaa Secondary School, where you'll spend the night. From here, you'll be treated to a stunning view of Lake Chala and Jipe, stretching into Kenya. Day 3

Cycling from Ubaa Secondary School to Snow Cap Cottages (32 kilometers, 4-5 hours)

Day 4

Cycling from Snow Cap Cottages to Lerang'wa Secondary School (47 kilometers, 5-7 hours)

Prepare for a thrilling day as you set off from Snow Cap Cottages towards Lerang'wa. This leg of the journey is the longest but offers incredible opportunities to spot wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for giraffes, zebras, and gnus as they migrate across the border from Amboseli National Park in Kenya. Immerse yourself in the rich Maasai culture as you encounter locals herding their cattle along the road. The stunning scenery and occasional steep sections add to the excitement of the ride. In the evening, you'll camp at Lerang'wa Secondary School, surrounded by the beauty of the Tanzanian wilderness.

Day 5

Cycling from Lerang'wa to Wiri Primary School (45 kilometers, 4-5 hours)

Today's cycling route takes you through the vast agricultural lands of West Kilimanjaro, known for their expansive wheat farms. Enjoy the cooler climate as you pedal through this picturesque landscape. The majority of the route is downhill, providing a refreshing change after the previous day's challenges. Take in the panoramic views and relish the peaceful ambiance as you make your way to Wiri Primary School. Upon arrival, set up camp and savor a well-deserved rest.

Day 6

Cycling to Boma Ng'ombe and Departure (26 kilometers, 3-4 hours)

On the final day of your cycling adventure, you'll pedal your way from Wiri Primary School to Boma Ng'ombe, situated along the main Arusha to Moshi Road. Descend a distance of 26 kilometers, enjoying the predominantly downhill terrain. Marvel at the changing landscapes and soak in the last moments of your African cycling experience. After reaching Boma Ng'ombe, load the bikes onto the vehicle and bid farewell to the beautiful Tanzanian countryside. You'll then be transferred back to Moshi or to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward journey.

Our tour package includes accommodation throughout the cycling journey, meals as mentioned in the itinerary, experienced cycling guide(s), support vehicle for transporting luggage and equipment, high-quality bicycles, necessary equipment and gear, camping gear (tents, sleeping bags, etc.), and all necessary permits and entry fees

The tour package does not include international or domestic flights, visas, travel insurance, personal expenses, optional activities or excursions not mentioned in the itinerary, tips/gratuities for guides and staff, and any additional services not specified in the package.

This tour is designed for moderately experienced cyclists. Participants should have a good level of fitness and be comfortable riding on various terrains, including uphill and downhill sections. Some off-road cycling may be involved, but it is manageable for cyclists with basic off-road experience.

While we provide high-quality bicycles as part of the tour package, you are welcome to bring your own bike if you prefer. Please inform us in advance if you plan to bring your own bike, so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Our tour groups are typically small to ensure a personalized and intimate experience. The average group size is around 6 to 10 participants, allowing for better interaction with the guide and a more enjoyable cycling experience.

The minimum age requirement for this tour is 18 years old. However, exceptions can be made for younger participants if they have previous cycling experience and are accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Accommodation during the tour will be a combination of camping and basic guesthouses or lodges. While camping, we provide high-quality camping gear, including tents and sleeping bags. The guesthouses or lodges will offer comfortable and clean rooms with basic amenities.
